Authur Rex Sconyers, 80, of Hartford, Alabama went to be with Our Lord on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 after an extended illness.


 


He was born on November 19, 1937, in Coffee Springs, Alabama, to the late Arthur Lee “Bob” and Sue Sconyers. He was the eldest of 6 children. He graduated Coffee Springs High School in 1957. He worked at Fort Rucker, then with Liberty National Insurance Company for 38 years until retirement. He enjoyed talking with family, fishing, and being outside in nature.


 


Funeral services will be held at 11am Friday, February 2, 2018 at Hartford Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Spivey officiating and under the direction of Jimmy Bottoms of Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.


 


Survivors include his wife of 58 years Eleanor “Jan” Sconyers; his only daughter, Jennifer Lynn Stoops and son-in-law, Chad Stoops all of Hartford; two grandchildren, Julian Ammons of Daleville and Thomas Joseph Doran II of Fort Carson, Colorado; two step-grandchildren, Lena Mae and Bradon Stoops of Missouri; two great-grandchildren, Ezekiel Palmer Ammons and Noah Authur Ammons of Daleville; sisters, Louise (Ken) Benhler, Betty (Reggie) Kelley, and Marry (Bobby) Morris; brothers, Hulon Sconyers and Harold (Mary) Sconyers; along with several loving nieces and nephews.
