Baby Avery “Grace” Daum of Slocomb passed away peacefully in her father’s arms Friday, December 15, 2023. She was one.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 9:00 a.m. and continuing until service time.
Avery was never meant to be on this earth long, she was meant to change the lives of anyone that crossed her path. Once she laid those beautiful blue eyes on you, you felt the impact on your very soul. Avery communicated with her eyes the most. If she wanted you to give her attention, she would watch your every move. If she was annoyed, she would just close her eyes, peaking when she thought the coast was clear. Ms Rachel not on the tablet or tv? She would stare at you and then the tablet, back and forth until you had it playing. Sometimes, she would babble and smile at you, and that was like the sun shining right into your heart. She loved being held and sang to, especially her favorite, “You Are My Sunshine”. She enjoyed soft fuzzy blankets and being swaddled. Avery will be dearly missed and she leaves a huge impact on this world, even for the short amount of time she was here.
Survivors include her father, Davon Isaiah Daum; mother, Gracie Starling; paternal grandparents, Misha Brashear (Cully Walker) “Mema” & “Paw-Paw”; maternal grandparents, Sherry and Billy Bowman; numerous Aunts and uncles, cousins, and other extended family and friends.
