Barbara Ann Haberle (nee Whittaker) was born on March 29, 1931, and passed away at home on July 22, 2019, in Dothan, Alabama. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, moved to Medford, NJ where she married the love of her life and raised her family, and eventually settled in Alabama.
She enjoyed shopping, reading, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, playing games, camping, and decorating, whether it be a room, Christmas cookies or for the holidays. She had the knack to make everything and everyone feel special. She enjoyed new adventures like taking her first “Harley” ride at age 75 and riding on a jet ski at age 87. She loved to travel, spending time watching the birds, smelling the flowers and enjoying the beach. To her children she was famous for saying, “wait until your father gets home”. But most of all, she loved being around her family. She was a devoted mother of 8, grandmother of 17 and great grandmother of 25, mother-in-law, aunt and friend to many. To us, she was everything and will be greatly missed especially by her loyal pets Zoey, Misty, and Holly.
She was predeceased by her husband Albert of 66 years, her grandson, Kevin Haines, her parents, George and Helen Whittaker, brother, George and sister, Jeanette.
A mass will be held honoring Barbara on July 27, 2019, at 10:30 am, at St. Columba Catholic Church on Main Street in Dothan, Alabama. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens’ Hospital or to your local Humane Society of the United States.
