BARBARA CHRISTIANSEN DEDRICK
DOTHAN, ALABAMA. . .Barbara Ann Wilson Christiansen Dedrick, a former resident of Dothan, Alabama, died Monday afternoon, August 4, 2014, in the Signature HealthCARE of North Florida in Graceville, Florida. She was 84.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. (E.D.T.) Friday, August 8, 2014, in the Thornrose Cemetery, Staunton, Virginia, with Father Joseph Wamala officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice of Marianna, 4215 Kelson Avenue, Suite E, Marianna, Florida 32446.
Ms. Dedrick was born in Summitt, New Jersey, and was reared in Plainfield, New Jersey, daughter of the late Harold Lee Wilson and Angela Margaret Toscano Wilson. She formerly lived in Watchung, N.J., Staunton, VA, Augusta, GA, and Dothan, AL, before moving to the health care facility in 2012. A career nurse, Ms. Dedrick completed her training as a Registered Nurse at Muhlenberg Hospital, School of Nursing in Plainfield, N.J. in 1950. She spent most of her career at Kings Daughter Hospital in Staunton, Va and retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital in Augusta, GA in 1998.
She was a member of the St. Columba Catholic Church in Dothan and had attended St. Francis of the Assisi Catholic Church in Staunton, Va.
Surviving relatives include a son, Clayton L. Christiansen (Donna), Dothan; two grandsons, Sean Christiansen, and Mark Christiansen.
