Barbara Ann (Weston) Creel passed away onto the loving arms of God on February 18, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones at home after several months of battling cancer. She was born on May 21, 1939 to the late Robert B. and Velma (Jones) Weston, also a nephew: Gary Phelps preceded her in death.
Celebration of Life Service will be on April 27, 2019 at 1 PM at George T. Bagby State Park in Fort Gaines, GA.
Barbara attended schools in Graves and Dawson, GA. She graduated from Terrell High School in Dawson, Ga. in 1957. Upon her graduation, she moved to Tallassee, FL. where she became employed with the Florida Division of Driver’s License for 30 years before retiring.
She was a lifetime member of the Crawfordsville Baptist Church in Crawfordsville, FL. and after retirement she moved to Lake City, FL. where she joined Southside Baptist Church. Her strength in life came from her love of God and strong Christian faith which she practiced every day.
Her favorite song was “Because He Lives.”, she cared for her uncle, John Weston, who was a disabled World War II veteran. Her home was open to all who visited, she loved to cook, especially fried chicken, homemade biscuits, and salmon patties.
She is survived by her sons: Michael Creel and his companion, Renee Prescott and her two daughters: Mackenzie and Megan, and Timothy (Barbara) Creel, grandchildren: Ashley (Justin) Wright, Jessica (Jessie) Dean, Colton Vann and his companion, Kristin Manley, great-grandchildren: Kadence and Carter Wright, sister: Sara (Paul) Morin, brother: Robert (Mary) Weston, and several nephews, nieces, cousins, and many loving family members.
