DOTHAN. . .Barbara Latham Bass, a resident of Dothan, passed away early Saturday morning, October 19, 2024, in Hartford Health Care. She was 80.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 25, 2024, in the St. Columba Catholic Church Chapel with Father Thomas LaPointe presiding. Graveside services will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery, Hartford Highway, Dothan. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be to Agape Hospice (First Choice Hospice), 966 Claxton Avenue, Elba, AL 36323.
Barbara Bass was born in Montgomery and was reared in Grimes, Alabama and Gainesville, Florida. She graduated from high school in Gainesville, Florida and attended Troy University where she majored in Elementary Education. Barbara was a long time member of Napier United Methodist Church. She had also attended Hebron Baptist Church, near Headland, and was currently attending St. Columba Catholic Church. She served as pianist for the Napier United Methodist Church for many years. Barbara was formerly employed as an Elementary School Teacher at Napier Elementary School and Pinckard Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her father, Anton Latham, her mother, Evelyn Truitt Jordan and her husband, Ronald H. “Ronnie” Bass.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Tiffany Whitehead (Dewayne), Cottonwood; a sister-in-law, Dinah Bass Blankenship, Dothan.
