Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Bay Springs Baptist Church with Brother Tommy Green and Brother Cliff Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday at the church from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. Flowers are being accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Bay Springs Baptist Church Youth.
Barbara Mae “Bobbie” Brownlie, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at her home. She was 90 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Bay Springs Baptist Church with Brother Tommy Green and Brother Cliff Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday at the church from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. Flowers are being accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Bay Springs Baptist Church Youth.
Bobbie was born in Key West, Florida on March 17, 1932. In her youth, she enjoyed going out shopping and roller-skating with friends. She lived in Florida for most of her life and then moved to the Dothan area in 2014. Bobbie was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord. She especially loved spending quality time with her family. She would always make ceramics and crochet pieces for her family to enjoy. She was also a talented gardener and could make anything grow. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband, George D. Brownlie; parents, Dewey and Sarah Buckley; sister, Dorothy Luna Smith; daughter, Cristi Green; and grandson, Justin Green.
Survivors include her daughters, Vicki (Tommy) Davis and Danette (Todd) Taggart; grandchildren, Courtney (Tyler) Hanks, Jacob Taggart, Dalton Taggart and Jennifer (Richard) DeVaughn; great grandchildren, Hampton Hanks and Haylee DeVaughn; and her beloved K9 companion, Bentley.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Taggart, Dalton Taggart, Tyler Hanks, Clay Morrison, Sawyer Riverbark, Kade Snell, Jackson Glover and Eli Williams.
