She was born in Frisco City, AL on October 7, 1931, to Robert Lambert and Minnie Jewel Sawyer. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was a believer that the worldly and earthly blessings you receive were to be enjoyed but also to make it possible that those who came into her home might too enjoy those things. With a heart of compassion and humility she spent her life in service to our Heavenly Father in feeding the hungry and clothing the poor. Everyone that ever came inside her door never left wanting for the things of this life. Her many years of service and compassion was an example to many. She had many hobbies including homemaking with a special fondness for oil painting.
Mrs. Dean was preceded in death by her husband, Ramon E. Dean; grandson, Stacy Dean Powell; her parents, Robert Lambert and Minnie Jewel Sawyer; step-parents, Myrtle (Norris) King and Cecil King.
Survivors include her children, Pennie Kelley (Jeff), Paula Crean (Pat), Dyke E. Dean, Pam Carter; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Loretta L. McKenzie; brother and sisters-in-law, David Dean (Louise), Carolyn D. Findley (Leory).
It is with a grateful heart that we are blessed that Barbara received love, compassion and kindness from her friends, EH&R 7th hall nursing staff, MCE ICU and 4th floor nursing staff, Dr. Alan Young and Southern Care Hospice.
