Barbara Susan Wilson, passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 following an extended illness. She was 60.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Wednesday, March 18, 2015 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug MacCormack officiating. Burial will follow in Grace Point Church Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7pm on Tuesday.
Mrs. Wilson, the daughter of Howard and Stella Sketo, was born on July 31, 1954 in Houston County and lived the early years of her life in Kinsey. She resided in Dothan most of her life and was employed with Dollar General for 12 years until her retirement in 2002. She resided in Columbus, Georgia for the past 2 years. Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker and was very artistic, creative and loved to wood burn and write poems. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Dothan.
Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Stella Sketo, her son, Austin Ray Mathis and by her twin sister, Betty Ann Sketo.
Survivors include her sons, Christopher Mathis and Thomas Wilson; her daughter, Susan (Mark) Stephens; her grandchildren, Courtney (Collin), Trim, Austin Watkins, Kaycee Watkins, Raven Watkins, Brandon Mathis, and Jaylen Wilson; a great-grandchild, Peanut; her 4 sisters, Dorothy (Peter) Hovanec, Nancy (Mike) Roediger, Lois (Dale) Conway, and Denise Sketo; several nieces and nephews.
