Beatrice Ames "The Bible Lady", 100, of Dothan passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 1 pm Friday, August 17, 2012 at Dothan Community Church with Dr. W. Charles Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Dothan City Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 12-1 pm prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Camp Victory, 363 Victory Circle, Samson, AL, 36477 or to the Dothan Community Church Building Fund, 4390 Westgate Pkwy, Dothan, AL, 36303.

Ms. Ames was born November 25, 1911 in Schenectady, NY and resided there the early part of her life. She moved to Dothan in 1942 and has resided here for the past 70 years. She was a missionary and served in children's bible missions at Camp Victory in Samson, AL for many years. She also traveled to Henry, Houston, and Geneva County school systems sharing bible stories with children. Ms. Ames was a devoted member of the Dothan Community Church.
