Beatrice McNeil Elmore, a resident of Dothan, died early Sunday afternoon, July 24, 2016, in the Extendicare Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was 94.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 26, 2016, in the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, in Webb, with Pastor Tony Deese officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday in the church sanctuary. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, c/o Shirley Gouge, 201 Kristina Road, Webb, AL 36376.
Mrs. Elmore was born and reared in Rehobeth, daughter of the late Hosea P. McNeil and Viddie Lee Joyner McNeil. She lived most of her adult lifetime in Cottonwood and also lived in Webb before moving to Extendicare in 2007. Mrs. Elmore was a member of the Mt Ararat Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of the Mecca Grill. Mrs. Elmore was preceded in death by her husband, James Tullis Elmore, a son, Monroe McArthur Elmore, a grandson, Donald Wayne Elmore, two sisters, Lillie Mae Kirkland and Shirley Cochran, and two brothers, Lurie McNeil and Johnny McNeil.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Debra White (Jimmy), Cowarts; a son, William Tullis Elmore (Joycine), The Rock, GA; two sisters, Kate Sellers, Seale, AL; and Lorell Murphy, Fadette, AL; a brother, Reynolds McNeil (Audrey), Dothan; a brother-in-law, Johnny Cochran, Webb; eight grandchildren, Neachole McClenny (Don), Chris Carter, Kerry Elmore, Patrick Elmore (Cindy), Lynn Jones (Doug), Bryan Elmore, Cindy Peterson (Louie), and Jaime Theimer; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Blake Cochran, Ricky Cochran, Bruce Cochran, Danny McNeil, Tony Murphy and Chris Carter.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Extendicare Health & Rehab and especially to the staff on hall three for loving care and kindness shown to Mrs. Elmore during her nine years as a resident.
