HEADLAND . . . Benjamin Bennett Trawick, a resident of Geiger Road, died early Saturday morning, March 3, 2012, at the home of his daughter, Sheila McGhee, in Wetumpka, Alabama. He was 93.



            Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, March 4, 2012 in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with his son-in-law, Greg McGhee officiating. Burial will follow in the Center Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, between Ozark and Ariton. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the mortuary in Headland.



            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to one’s favorite charity.



            Mr. Trawick was born and reared in the Arguta community of Dale County, son of the late William Albert Trawick and Ida Phillips Trawick. He served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. Mr. Trawick formerly lived in Newton and Pinckard before moving to Headland in 1991. He was retired as a shipping foreman with Sunnyland Packing Company in Dothan after thirty-two years employment. In earlier years, Mr. Trawick was engaged in farming. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Hodges Trawick, two sisters and seven brothers.



            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Sheila McGhee and husband, Greg, Wetumpka, AL; four step-daughters, Shirley Williams and Patricia Woodham, Pam Wright and husband, Doyle, all of Headland; Loretta Jenkins and husband, Mitchell, Snellville, GA; a step-son, Harold Harrison and wife, Anna Harrison, Bainbridge, GA; two grandchildren, twenty-three step-grandchildren, forty-one step-great-grandchildren, five step-great-great-grandchildren.



            Serving as active pallbearers will be grandsons.
