Mr. Benjamin “Benny” Lee Gibson of Roundabout Road, Samson, Alabama passed away Tuesday, September 01, 2015, at the age of 70.


Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 3, 2015, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Woody Dupree officiating.  The burial will follow at the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continue until service time.


Mr. Gibson was born April 29, 1945, in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Benjamin Franklin and Frances Elizabeth Robbinson Gibson.   The family moved to Ocoee, Florida where he attended Ocoee High School.  After thirty nine years of service he retired from Citrus Central in Orlando, Florida as a mechanic.  He loved collecting and racing cars.  He was known for holding several short track records throughout the state of Florida and notorious for his 3X pink Mustang.  Benny loved his family and was a good husband and Papa.


Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Gibson, of Samson, AL; two daughters: Sheila (Carl) Dillon and Jenny (Kevin) Linkh; two granddaughters: Amanda Dillon (Damon) Hughes and Tanya Dillon Bales; three great-grandchildren: Preston Bales, Emma Mae Hughes and Olivia Kate Hughes; two step grandchildren: Andrew Hughes and Savanna Hughes; other extended family and friends.
