Mrs. Bernice Evelyn Beck Metcalf, 93, (widow of Herb Metcalf) of Dothan passed quietly on December 22, 2017 of natural causes. Born in Foley, AL, September 15, 1924 she was a resident of Dothan, AL since 1953.

She is survived by her three children, Becky Schaffer (Darryl Blackstone) of Lakeland, FL, Herb Metcalf, Jr. (Tammy) of Trussville, AL, and Diane Schulz (Russell) of Port St. Joe, FL; five grandchildren, Meghan Metcalf of Trussville, AL, Christopher Hunsinger of New York, NY, Donald “Doni” Morris, Jr. (DeeDee) of Dothan, AL, Andrew Morris (Rebecca) of Ft. Myers, FL, and Mathew Morris (Kate) of Walnut Grove, MO; four great-grandchildren; Emily Metcalf of Trussville, AL, Andrew Morris, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, Meredith Morris of Ft. Myers, FL, and Calvin Morris of Walnut Grove, MO.

A private family service will be held after January 1st, 2018 to keep the family from having to make changes in their Christmas and New Year travel plans. In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable donation to Highland Park United Methodist Church, 1619 South Park Avenue, Dothan, Alabama, 36301.
