 Bernice Williams Snell

Bernice Williams Snell, a resident of the Bay Springs Community, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013 at her home. She was 90. 

Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2013 at Bay Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Scott Cox and Rev. Coley M. Holloway officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bay Springs Baptist Church, 1721 Bay Springs Rd, Dothan, AL 36305 or your favorite charity.

Mrs. Snell was born November 24, 1922 in Wicksburg and was a lifelong resident of that area. While in high school she was an avid basketball player. She was employed as a bus driver for several years and also was a  teacher’s aid. Mrs. Snell loved flowers and enjoyed gardening. She was a long term member of Bay Springs Baptist Church.

Mrs. Snell is predeceased by a son, Frankie Snell, her husband, Louie Frank Snell and a daughter, Renee Snell Merritt.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Derry R. Snell (Sandy) of Pike Road, AL; a granddaughter, Taylor Merritt of Wicksburg; two brothers-in-law, Max Snell (Naomi) and Glenn Smith, all of Dothan, AL; several nieces and nephews also survive.
