Bette Jayne Young Byrd, 74, a resident of Ozark, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at her residence.

Bette was born July 7, 1948, in St. Mary’s, Pennsylvania to the late Robert and Elizabeth Knowlton Young. She received her master’s degree in education from Troy University and has taught in Ozark City Schools for 30 years.

Bette is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, George Young.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Henderson Byrd; sons, Robert Patton (Jamie) of Jacksonville, FL, Kenneth Byrd (Mary Margaret) of Leeds, AL; grandchildren, Elizabeth Libby Love of Leeds, AL, John Barrett Byrd of Leeds, AL, Max Patton of Jacksonville, FL, Dawson Patton of Charleston, SC.
