Betty Harrelson Campbell age 80 a resident of Grady, Alabama passed away unexpectedly Friday, December 15, 2023 at Baptist Hospital South in Montgomery, Alabama. Funeral services will be held at Hayes Funeral Home on Saturday, December 23, 2023 beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jesse Kirkland and Rev. Kenny Horn officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaverdam Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Flowers will be accepted, or those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to do so to the Beaverdam Cemetery fund.
Betty was a 1961 graduate of Brantley High School and upon graduation attended Massey Draughn Business School. She continued to pursue her education at Troy State University-Montgomery, where she obtained an associate degree in computer science. She worked in Civil Service where she trained young Airmen who tracked the nuclear arsenal for the United States Airforce. She was an active member of Bradleyton Baptist Church where she served as secretary and treasurer for many years. He most enjoyed role, was that of being a mother and grand momma to her family.
Mrs. Campbell leaves behind her son, Gregory W. (Molly) Campbell, Ramer, AL, son, Mike (Dedee) Campbell, Luverne, AL, daughter, Jondra (Ken) Oswalt, Tallassee, AL, granddaughter, Elizabeth (Matt) McCaskey, Cumming, GA, granddaughter, Breanna (Zach) Kelley, Tallassee, AL, granddaughter, Landie Campbell, Wetumpka, AL, granddaughter, Lauren Payton, Luverne, AL, grandson, Justen (Lacey) Campbell, Highland Home, AL, grandson, Arlan (Athena) Campbell, Ramer, AL, grandson, Ryan Campbell, Killeen, TX, grandson, Nathan Oswalt, Auburn, AL, grandson, Trey Oswalt, Salem, AL, along with great grandchildren, Jaxon, Jace, Colton, Kade, Haylee, Anslee, Tenlee, Khami Rae, and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her ninth great grandchild. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Foy and Myrtle.
Hayes Funeral Home of Elba, Alabama is serving the Campbell family.
