Under the loving care of Southern Care Hospice, Mrs. Betty Earline Sewell Efurd, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family and faithful caregiver, JoAnn Revis.
Funeral services will be held at Bethel Baptist Church (Cottonwood Road), on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., with Dr. Ricky Plummer officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at Mt. Enon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to, Bethel Baptist Church Missions, 3257 E. Cottonwood Road, Dothan, AL 36301, or SouthernCare Hospice, 2576 Montgomery Highway, Suite 2, Dothan, AL 36303.
Earline was born July 16, 1930, in Houston County to the parents Henry & Lula (Ammons) Odom. She attended Ashford High School and spent her entire life in the Dothan and Cowarts area. She was employed by Warners Brother, Fox Catrett Enterprises, and the Dothan City Schools. She was a faithful Christian and a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she taught a Bible study class for many years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and father of her three children, Rudolph Sewell; three brothers, A.B. Odom, Espy Odom, and Howard Odom; three sisters, Willie Mae Ingram, Voncille Arnold, and Robbie Kate Cunningham.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda & Mike Harper, Debbie & Ryan Bagwell, and Stacie & John Hayes; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Bobbie & Eston Cook; and one sister-in-law, Bernice Odom; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to offer a special thanks and gratitude to Shannon, Amie, and Cherrie from SouthernCare Hospice for their loving care.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Wesley Harper, Johnathan Hayes, and Chase Bagwell; great-grandsons, Carson Herring, Caleb Harper, Hayes Harper, Trevor Jones, and Trent Jones.
