Betty F. Hardy, 83, a resident of Dothan passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kevin Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Resource Center, P.O. Box 1170, Dothan, AL 36302.

Mrs. Hardy was born October 27, 1932 in Houston County, AL and lived the early part of her life in Pansey, AL. She graduated from Ashford High School and resided in Montgomery for 30 years prior to moving to Dothan in 1993. Mrs. Hardy was a homemaker and provided a warm and loving home to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon Layton and Jewel Layton Cook and her brother, GW Layton.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Thomas Hardy; her son, Greg Hardy (Renee Kidd); her granddaughter, Kelli Hardy; her great-grandson, Tristan Hardy; her brother, Wren (Barbara) Layton; numerous nieces and nephews.
