Betty Gail Brewer, of Black, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at her residence. Shel was 78 years old.

She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Charlie and Lessie Whitehead Mixon; husband, Charles W. Brewer; daughter, Melinda Kay Brewer; and two brothers, Page and Paul Mixon.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Wesley Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Home Baptist Church Cemetery in Thurston under the direction of Jimmy Bottoms of Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Survivors include her son, Allen Brewer of Black, Alabama; grandson, Brady Summerlin of Johnsonville, North Carolina; two brothers, Jerry C. Mixon (Suzanne) of Black, Alabama and Wayne Mixon (Lisa) of Geneva.
