HEADLAND. . .Betty Haisten Granberry, a resident of Headland, went home to be with her Lord late Monday afternoon, January 18, 2016, at her home. She was 67.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M Thursday, January 21, 2016, in the Hebron Baptist Church with Reverend Ron Baker and Reverend Don Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Newton City Cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the mortuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3054 McGehee Road, Montgomery, AL 36111.
Betty Granberry was born and reared in Newton, Alabama, daughter of the late Isaac Jackson Haisten, Sr. and Mabel Baldwin Haisten. She was a graduate of Wicksburg High School and attended Riley Business College. Betty lived in Dothan before moving to the Hebron community of Henry County in 1995. She was a member of the Hebron Baptist Church and was a former member of the Newton Baptist Church. Betty and her husband owned and operated Granberry Farms. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sara Haisten Wheeler and a brother-in-law, Robert Ashley (Bob) Wheeler.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Rex Dowling Granberry; a daughter, Lane Hardy, both of Headland; two sons, Brad Hardy (Kim), Dothan; Clay Hardy (Amy), Franklin, TN; two step-sons, Jason Granberry and Justin Granberry, both of Headland; a brother, Jackie Haisten, Headland; five grandchildren, Amber Hardy, Allison Hardy, Paige Hardy, Bryant Hardy, and SaraAnn Hardy; sisters-in-law, Ilona Dyson (Rev. Tom), Cindy DeShazo (Izie); a brother-in-law, Merwin Granberry (Hayward); several nieces and nephews.
