BETTY JEAN STEWART
HEADLAND, AL… Betty Jean Stewart, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Tuesday morning, March 2, 2022, at her home. She was 85.
Graveside services will be held 3:30 P.M. Friday, March 4, 2022, at the Headland Methodist Cemetery with Reverend Misty Barrett officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Contributions may be made in Mrs. Stewart's memory, to the Headland United Mehodist Church, 103 West King Street, Headland, Alabama 36345.
Mrs. Stewart was born in Newnan, Georgia, to the late Jim Wilson and Mary Ruth Hancock Wilson. She was a member of the Headland United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Abbeville United Methodist Church. She lived several years in Abbeville, Alabama before moving to Headland, Alabama in 1996. She retired from the Southland Bank in Abbeville, Alabama.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lindbergh Stewart, Sr.; her son, Donald Lindbergh “Juma” Stewart, Jr.; and her sister, Elise Strickland.
Leaving to cherish her memories is her daughter, Kathy Arrington (Greg); her grandsons, Stewart Arrington and Ben Arrington (Macy); her great-grandchildren, Millie Kate Arrington, Shepard B. Arrington, Annie Ruth Arrington, Pate Wilson Arrington, and Gibbons Logan Arrington; her brothers-in-law, Luke Strickland and Cecil Stewart (Fay); her sister-in-law, Gladys Stewart; her special nephew, Hank Strickland (Alicia); her great-niece and nephew, Alaina Strickland and Aaron Strickland; and her several nieces and nephews from the Stewart family.
