Mrs. Betty Joyce Kliewer of Geneva, AL passed away on Tuesday, April 02, 2024 at her home. She was 88.

 Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 04, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m. The family request in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Maple Avenue Baptist Church, 1009 W. Maple Ave, Geneva, AL 36340.

 Mrs. Kliewer was born on March 18, 1936 in Ozark, AL to the late John Floyd and Ruby Louise Green Brunson. Betty’s whole heart was her family. She was an excellent cook and homemaker. She was a devoted member of Maple Avenue Baptist Church, where she enjoyed worshipping the Lord and Bible study. In previous years, Betty and Boyd enjoyed many outings and “get togethers” with special friends Fred and Iby LaMarra, Mable and Gus Baker and Martha Helms. She was always down for a good shopping trip.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Boyd Kliewer and two brothers, L.A. Brunson and Donald “Huey” Brunson.

 Betty is survived by her son, Stephen Boyd Kliewer of Geneva, AL; sister, Faye Anderson (Rex) and one sister-in-law, Peggy Brunson all of Geneva, AL; step grandchildren, Kaylan, Joseph and Ashley; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

 The family would like to express a “Thank You” to special friends, Rex and Patricia Yates. She and Patricia enjoyed special times together as Patricia was devoted to helping Betty. They also greatly appreciate the assistance of caregivers, Ann McClenny, Brenda McCall and Gentiva Hospice.

 Serving as pallbearers will be Randal Brunson, Todd Anderson, Jonathan Brunson, Joseph Brunson, Jim Brunson and Jay Reynolds Brunson.
