BETTY  LOU  McLENDON


DOTHAN. . .Betty Lou Johnson McLendon, a resident of Dothan, died early Friday morning, May 3, 2013, in the Henry County Health & Rehabilitation Facility in Abbeville. She was 75.


            Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 5, 2013, in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery with Dr. Steve Bailey officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside services.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.


            Mrs. McLendon was born and reared in Abbeville, daughter of the late Marvin Holman Johnson and Mary Lou Kirkland Johnson. She was a 1955 graduate of Abbeville High School and attended Massey-Draughon Business College in Montgomery.  Mrs. McLendon was a member of the Heritage Baptist Church in Dothan. She was retired from Bay Line Railroad in Panama City as an accounting clerk. Mrs. McClendon was preceded in death by her husband, George W. McLendon, and a nephew, Jeffrey Lee Johnson.


            Surviving relatives include a brother, Max D. Johnson and wife, Priscilla, Abbeville; sisters-in-law, Betty Farr, Americus, GA; Marilyn Adams and husband, Reverend Larry Adams, Webb, AL; a brother-in-law, Jerry McLendon, Mobile, AL; a niece, Leslie Gulledge, Dothan; a special great-niece, Adelyn Deal; a special great-nephew, Kenyon Deal.
