BETTY RUTH GAMBLE
ABBEVILLE. . .Betty Ruth Sellers Gamble, a resident of Abbeville, died Sunday afternoon, November 18, 2012 at her home. She was 78.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 20, 2012 in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Reverend George Bryan, Reverend Jamie Brock and a nephew, Kaloeb Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Balkum Cemetery in the Tumbleton community. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to7:00 P.M. Monday at the mortuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, AL 36302.
Mrs. Gamble was born and reared in Blue Springs, Alabama, daughter of the late George Ellis Sellers, Sr. and Elsie Cox Sellers. She moved to Abbeville in 1969. Mrs. Gamble was preceded in death by her husband, James Lewis (Jimmy) Gamble, a son-in-law, John Preston Griffin, a sister, Grace Smith and two brothers, Harold Sellers and George Junior Sellers.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Annie Ruth Bush and husband, Ronnie; and Barbara Griffin, all of Abbeville; four sisters, Sybil Hartzog, Abbeville; Patricia Duke (Clifford), Montgomery; Patsy Trammell, Eufaula; Lila Faye Trammell, Eufaula; a brother, Curtis Sellers, Blue Springs; a sister-in-law, Molly Sellers; three grandchildren, Kimberley Anderson (Craig), Lee Bush (Kristy), and Jody Lee Bailey; five great-grandchildren, Madison Anderson, Parker Anderson, Peyton Anderson, Gabriella Bailey and Matthew Bush; several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Jeff Duke, Sean Duke, Daniel Trammell, Gary Morris, John Curtis Anderson and Stan Kilpatrick.
