Betty Sue Danford age 88, a resident of Elba, Alabama passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019 at her home. Funeral services will be held at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 5, 2019 beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. Steve Watson officiating. Burial will follow in the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery with Hayes Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home on Friday, July 5, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Betty was born on March 8, 1931 to the late William Bell Spinks and Lela Pearl Spinks. She was a beloved and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked along side her husband on their farm in the Damascus community. She was also very proud of the fact that she worked for forty -one years for contractors at Fort Rucker.

Beside her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, George Lynwood "Buddy" Danford; her sisters, Nina Spinks Moore (Jones), and Janelle Spinks Windham (Bonner), along with her brother, William Bell Spinks, Jr.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Danford Wilkins, Elba, AL, and Daughter - Susan Danford (Jimmy) Deese of Maylene, Alabama, along with Grandchildren - Shawn Linton (Ashli) Wilkins, Miranda Wilkins, and Travis Danford (Bridgette) Deese. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren - Cameron Slade Wilkins, Deborah Jade Sims, Evangeline Grace Wilkins, and Rachel Ann Deese, and a sister Mary Spinks (George) Grider of Elba, Alabama.

Betty spent her last years at her home with caregivers who became family to her, and the family would like to express their appreciation for the love and dedicated care given to their mother.
