DOTHAN…Betty Sue Gulledge, a resident of Dothan, died Wednesday morning, January 20, 2016, in a Dothan hospital. She was 71.


            Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 23, 2016, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Ray S. Reiley officiating. Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ozark. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at the mortuary.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1449 Medical Park Drive, Birmingham, Alabama 35213.


            Mrs. Gulledge was born and reared in Abbeville where she lived most of her lifetime before moving to Dothan in 2003. She was currently employed by Great Southern Wood Preserving in the accounting department. In earlier years, she was employed by A.W. Herndon Oil Company of Abbeville. She was a member of the Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Dothan. Mrs. Gulledge was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Willie Helton Gagnon, her husband, Louie Edward (Ed) Gulledge, a daughter, Susan Denise Gulledge, a brother, Billy H. Scott and a sister, Pheobie Wilson.


            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Janna Gulledge Jacobson (Capt. Jeremy), Burnsville, MN; a son, Jason Gulledge (Tanya), Graceville, FL; a sister, Barbara Jo Ramey, Blairsville, GA; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Gulledge, Phenix City, AL and Jean Scott, Ozark; six grandchildren, Gunnar Jacobson, Halle Jacobson, Hanna Jacobson, Megan Jacobson, Jordan Miles (Justin), and Kade Smith; and a great-grandson on the way.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Jason Gulledge, Jeremy Jacobson, Kade Smith, Justin Miles, Darren Sanchez, Russell Ramey and David Ramey. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Gunnar Jacobson.
