Bill McLain, 79, a native of Dale County, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013, at his home in Dothan, AL.


Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Monday, January 7, 2013, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.


The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 3 to 5 P.M. Sunday, January 6, 2013.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, Wiregrass Food Bank, or Ridgecrest Baptist Church Building Fund.


Bill was born May 26, 1933. He served in the U.S. Military, and was employed by Sears for twenty six and ha lf years. He was the owner and founder of Bill’s Appliance Service, Dothan.


He is preceded in death by his mother, Vera Henderson Golden, father, Robert Dewey McLain, brother, James McLain, and sisters, Inez Reeder and Jewel Watson.


Survivors include his wife, Linda Dianne Parker, three children, Jim (Martha) McLain, Dothan; Sylvia (Robert) Cummings, Abbeville; Cynthia (Ken) Snyder, Columbia; three grandchildren, Mandy McLain Ludlam, Michael and Matthew Cummings, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous  nieces and nephews.
