BILLIE ANN BOWDEN
SYLACAUGA, AL… Billie Ann Bowden, a resident of Sylacauga, Alabama, passed away Wednesday night, December 20, 2023, surrounded by her family, at her daughter’s home in Headland, Alabama. She was 87.
Billie was native of Alpine, AL; born on February 1, 1936 to the late Jewel Louis Rowe and Troy Mae McCoy Rowe. She was a Godly woman who loved her family fiercely. Billie was a longtime, active member of Marble City Baptist Church, serving in several different capacities.
Her giving spirit and gentle soul will be cherished and remembered by not only her family but those who were blessed to have known her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Curtis and Son North Chapel, with Reverend Mac McCaleb officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Curtis and Son Funeral Home, 1315 Talladega Hwy, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family will receive flowers. Donations can be made to Marble City Baptist Church, 1512 Quarry Road, Sylacauga, Alabama 35151.
Along with her parents, her loving husband of 50 years, Oliver “Bill” Bowden preceded her in death.
Ms. Bowden was survived by her daughter, Sheila Chancey; her sons, Sam Bowden (Julie), Mike Bowden (Fay), and Kenneth Bowden (Kathy); her sister, Charlotte Wesley; her eleven grandchildren; and her ten great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice, Margo Apida, and Mary DeShazo for their generous and loving care they provided to Ms. Bowden.
