WEBB, ALABAMA. . .Billie Sue Singleton Deese, a resident of Webb, passed away early Sunday evening, November 10, 2024, at her home. She was 95.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 14, 2024, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Chaplain Kevin Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the mortuary in Headland.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Center Baptist Church, P.O. Box 129, Webb, AL 36376 or Gentiva Hospice, 2431 West Main Street, Suite 1102, Dothan, AL 36301.
Mrs. Deese was born and reared in the Center Community of Henry County, daughter of the late Sherry B. Singleton and Vera Chancey Singleton. She was a 1947 graduate of Newville High School. Mrs. Deese moved to Webb in 1948 where she was a member of Center Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Deese, a twin sister, Ethel Hue Singleton, and three other sisters, Mary Robinson, Tempie Roberts and Beth Ellis and three brothers, A. C. Singleton, Quay Singleton and John Singleton.
Surviving relatives include a brother, C. T. Singleton (Marie), Enterprise; a brother-in-law from the Deese family, Billy Owens; numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece, Elaine Livingston Bond, Webb, AL; and several cousins.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Sherrill Singleton, Randy Singleton, Fred Green, Booney Knowles, Anthony Owens, Chuck Miles and Billy McCurdy.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Gentiva Hospice and caregivers, Wanda Davis, Cathie McCullough, Maria Williams, Martha Oliver, Brandy Padgett, Teresa Williams, Kanika Shipmon and “Oreo” for the loving kindness shown to Mrs. Deese during her illness.
