Mr. Billy Eugene Jordan of Geneva, AL passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016 with his loving family by his side at Wiregrass Rehab and Nursing Home. He was 84.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday April 13, 2016 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Zach Dodson officiating and Archie Howell delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Billy was born on March 4, 1932 to the late Clarence and Delia Anderson Jordan.
Mr. Jordan was a devoted husband, father, and papaw. He loved cutting grass, fishing, camping, but most of all; he dearly loved spending time with his grandchildren. Billy proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Jordan believed in hard work having retired from Clinton Mills and also as a poultry and cattle farmer to which he invested many long but rewarding hours.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by his wives, Massie Ree “Marie” Jordan, mother of his children and Bettie Jean Jordan; one son, Dennis Eugene Jordan; one daughter, June McKinney; one grandson, Darryl Eugene McKinney; one granddaughter, Amber Marie Myers; one brother, Johnny Jordan; two sisters, Nellie Carter and Francis Wilkerson.
He is survived by two daughters, Ann Melson (Roger) and Patty Myers (Len) both of Geneva, AL; seven step children, Phil McDougald (Myrna) of Panama City, FL, Shirley Huffstutler (Duane) of Geneva, AL, Bobby McDougald of Taylor, AL, Carol Brock (Danny), Judy Slay (David), Cindy Dady (Henry) and Benny McDougald all of Geneva, AL; four grandchildren, Travis McKinney (Julia), Samantha Alred, Josh Myers, and Heather McCoy (Chris); six great-grandchildren, Madeline McKinney, Jason McKinney, Breanna Alred, Matthew Tucker, Bryar McKinney, and Jagher McKinney; four sisters, Louise Grimes (Hayward) of Dothan, AL, Sara Jenkins (Jack) of Dothan, AL, Christine Massey of Enterprise, AL, and Gail Howell (Max) of Hartford, AL; and a host of nieces and nephews.
