     Billy Joe Jordan, 82,  passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013 in the Green Point Nursing Home  in  Union Point, Ga. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 1, 2013 at 2:00 PM (EDT) at the First Baptist Church in Blakely, Ga. with Rev. Joe Jordan and Ric Hall officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon  from 4-6 PM (EDT). Active Pallbearers are scheduled to be:  Preston Brooks, Frank Stovall, Jimmy Ragan, Danny Sheffield, Ed Harper and Jimmy Thurman. Honorary pallbearers will be the Early County High School Football Coaching Staff, Brad Boyette and the Bobcat Football Team.


Billy Joe was born August 26, 1930 in Blakely, Ga. to the late Joseph Thomas Jordan and Ruth Houston Jordan. He was a retired funeral director and former President of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home in Blakely, Ga., he was a member of the Magnolia Lodge # 86 Masonic order, member of the Blakely Chapter # 282 Order of the Eastern Star, Deacon of the First Baptist Church, served about 29 years as Coroner of Early County, was a U. S. Air Force Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict and he was the VOICE of the Early County Bobcats from 1972 until 2011. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Hearn Jordan.


His survivors include a son: Rev. Joe Jordan and his wife Beverly of Fort Benton, MT, 2 daughters: Pam J. Byce and her husband Lee of Greensboro, Ga. and Cill J. White and her husband Rodney of Bogart, Ga. He has a brother: Thomas E. Jordan and his wife Charlotte of McDonough, Ga. There are 8 grandchildren: Jordan Byce- Watkinsville, Ga.; Brooke B. Marshall (Brett) of Unadilla, Ga.; Anna J. Mee (Howard) of Columbia Falls, MT; Adam Jordan (Brooke) of Augusta, MT, Emily J. Lindskoog (Peter) of Columbia Falls, MT; Julie J. McGinnis (Kale) of Minot, ND; Raley White and Molly White, both of Bogart, Ga. In addition, there are 8 great grandchildren: Blakely Marshall- Unadilla, Ga., Gracie Mee, Jordan Mee, Caleb Mee, Ryan Mee,  Rhett Lindskoog, Brylee Lindskoog and Ella Joy Lindskoog- all of Columbia Falls, Mt.


In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made either to: Community Bible Church, P. O. Box 1228, Fort Benton, MT 59442 or to the Montana Wilderness School of the Bible, P. O. Box 366, Augusta, MT 59410.
