BILLY R. DAVIS
DOTHAN…Billy R. Davis, a resident of Dothan, died Monday night, October 7, 2013, at his residence. He was 75.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 11, 2013 in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Sister Judy Dyson and Pastor Jason Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Midland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the mortuary in Headland. At other times, the family will be at the home of a daughter, Lisa Childs, 2417 Glen Lawrence Road, Cowarts, AL.
Mr. Davis, son of the late John Marrell Davis and Ethel Inez Powers Davis, was born and reared in Henry County, near Abbeville. He lived in Columbia for twenty five years before moving to Dothan. Mr. Davis formerly owned and operated Davis Roofing and Remodeling Company. He attended the Shady Grove Holiness Church in Pansey. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Gail Whittaker, a son, Billy Gene Davis and three brothers, Tom Davis, Willie J. Davis and Thuril Davis.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Betty Morrell Davis, Dothan; five daughters, Angie Bryan (Travis Bedsole), Dothan; Lisa Childs, Cowarts, Tina McNeill, Cindy Davis and Molly Henley (Daniel), all of Dothan; two sons, Charles Davis (Tina), Blackwood Community and Scotty Kelley, Dothan; two sisters, Mary Ivey and Patricia Davis, Dothan; four brothers, Johnny Davis, Cowarts; Robert Davis (Janice), Dothan; Arthur Davis (Cindy), Cowarts and Don Davis (Jeanette), Avon; twenty grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Aaron Davis, Ashley Willis, Chase McNeill, Timmy Blessman, Travis Bedsole, and Daniel Henley.
