Bob Holland, a resident of Dothan, Alabama, passed away suddenly at his home on Friday night, May 17, 2014. He was 76.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, May 20, 2024, at 11:00 am, at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Tim Owens officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 10:45 a.m. on Monday prior to service time.
Bob was born on October 31, 1947, at Moody Hospital in Dothan, Alabama, and graduated from Cottonwood High School in 1965. After graduation, he went to Wallace Community College and learned sheet metal technology and welding. His first job was with Holland Manufacturing. In 1981, he went to work with Shell Oil as a welder and then became the safety representative in oil fields. After 15 years at Shell, Bob went to Shaw Group in the safety department over nuclear plant construction and shutdown reporting. He retired from Shaw in 2012.
Bob was a loving and devoted family man to his wife and son, Philip. He was an active member of the Wiregrass Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Bob was preceded in death by his son Philip; his parents Hubert and Luverne Holland; and two brothers Doyle and Mickey Holland.
Survivors include his wife June; granddaughter Alexis; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
