Bobbie Carpenter Sammarco


Bobbie Carpenter Sammarco, a resident of Villa Rica, GA, formerly of Dothan, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013. She was 86.


Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013 at New Hope Cemetery (Bertha Community) with Rev. Billy Rich officiating and Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street directing. The family will receive friends at Byrd Funeral Home from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013.


Mrs. Sammarco was born November 20, 1926 in Dale County. She lived and worked in Dothan most of her life and later moved to Atlanta in 2003 to be near family. She is a member of Southside Baptist Church.


She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lucille Carpenter; one brother, Foy Carpenter; and one sister, Linda Carpenter.


Survivors include two daughters, Grace Mangrum of Carrollton, GA and Toni Sammarco of Villa Rica, GA; three grandchildren, Chad Mangrum of Douglasville, GA, Bonnie Perrino of Marietta, GA, and Leigh Johnson of Kernersville, NC; five great-grandchildren, Katlin, Kirsten, and Austin Mangrum, Will Perrino, and Emmalyn Johnson; five siblings, Bill Carpenter of Birmingham, AL, Elsie Phillips of Birmingham, AL, Gene Carpenter of Columbus, GA, Gary Carpenter of Jacksonville, FL and Elaine Terry of Atlanta, GA.
