Ms. Bobbie McNeal, resident of Cottonwood, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Extendicare Health and Rehab Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2024, at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Don Tew officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Hill Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. on Friday in the Chapel prior to service time.

Ms. Bobbie was born on April 7, 1931, in Houston County to the late Ernest Clifford McGowan and Effie Mamie Arnold McGowan. In 1949, she graduated from Dothan High School. She along with her late husband, Hubert, established McNeal’s Bait and Tackle in Cottonwood, which they operated for over 30 years. Ms. Bobbie was a member of Cottonwood First Baptist Church for many years.

Ms. Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Relond Hubert McNeal; four brothers and sisters-in-law,  Buford (Myrtle) McGowan of Dothan,  H.T. (Mary) McGowan of Dothan, Max (Sara) McGowan of Dothan and Cody (Maurice) McGowan of Wildwood, FL; three sisters, Kathryn Hall of Dothan, Bonnie Gibson of Albuquerque, NM and Betty Jean McGowan of Dothan; four brothers-in-law, Walter Roling, Charles Hall, Bill Naugle and John Thacker.

Ms. Bobbie is survived by two daughters; Kathy Buntin (Lyn) and Janice Sewell (David), all of Cottonwood; a sister, Nell Thacker, Warner Robbins, GA; four grandchildren, Michael Buntin (Mary), Leigh Sewell, Anna Gentry (Andy), and Jennifer Gardner (James); five great grandchildren, Wesley Buntin, Amelia Buntin, Hudson Gardner, Kathryn Gardner and Charlee Kate Gentry; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the caring staff of Extendicare and Eric Goforth, CRNP, for their compassion and care.
