Bobby D. Goins, a resident of Dothan, AL, passed away in his sleep on the morning of March 2nd, 2019 at the age of 86.

Bob was a 24-year veteran of the United States Air Force, serving through the Vietnam War, and a retired Air Traffic controller with the FAA. Predeceasing Mr. Goins are his parents, Claybon and Hattie Goins, brother Earl Goins, and his sister Hilda Goins Jolley. Survivors include his son, Cary (Veronica) Goins and daughter Patty (Mike) Johnson. His heart was full for his grandchildren, Jordan Goins, Kelsey Goins Grider, Trevor Goins, Justin Godwin and Danielle Godwin Atwell, and three great-granddaughters Addison Godwin, Kingsley Grider, and Caileigh Grider. He is also survived by his brother, David, and sister, Eleanor. Also surviving him is the love of Bob’s life, Wilma.

The family would like to extend thanks to all the people who assisted us in caring for him the last few years: the staff at William F Green State Veterans Home, Baldwin Infirmary and Home Instead (especially Tammy, who he loved to argue with).

A military service will honor him on March 16th, 2019 at 10:00 am. The family will receive friends prior to the service in the chapel at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
