Robert N. “Bobby” Hall
Robert N. “Bobby” Hall, (USAF, Ret) a resident of Ashford, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2012. He was 80.
Graveside services with military honors will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Rocky Creek United Methodist Church (Ashford) with Rev. Griff Pemberton officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Wednesday prior to service time.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rocky Creek Methodist Church “Cemetery Fund”, 3146 Creek Church Rd., Ashford, AL, 36312.
Mr. Hall was born January 3, 1932 in Ashford, Alabama to Charlie Comer and Thelma Herrington Hall. He was a 1949 graduate of Ashford High School and earned his Master’s Degree from Auburn University in 1955. He then entered the U. S. Air Force. In 1960, he married Sally Hope McArthur.
Following his marriage, he attended weapons controller school at Tyndal AFB, FL and accepted a job with Auburn University as an assistant county agent in Dale County from 1960-1963. He later worked as a regional county agent and returned to Ashford where he began farming and teaching at Ashford High School from 1964-1972. He then moved to full time service with the Air National Guard in Dothan as Lt. Commander and Unit Commander until 1985. After his military retirement in 1986, he continued farming and raising produce for the Houston County Farmer’s Market.
Mr. Hall was a member of Rocky Creek United Methodist Church. He gives credit for his success and enjoyment in life to God, His Son Jesus, The Holy Spirit, his wife, Sally and family and friends.
Mr. Hall is predeceased by his parents, a daughter, Hope Hall, a sister, Dorothy Taylor, two brothers, Brannon Hall and Buddy Hall.
Survivors include his wife, Sally McArthur Hall of Ashford; a son, Neal Hall and his wife, Sandy, of Decatur, TX; a sister, Marcellus Womack of TN; a brother, Bill Hall of Atlanta, GA; several nieces and nephews.
