FORT VALLEY, GA…Bobby Lee Bowen, a resident of Fort Valley, GA, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at his home. He was 87.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 12:30 P.M. (E.S.T.) Sunday, December 8, 2024, in the Fort Valley First Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Dennis Rivera officiating. Burial will be held at 2:00 P.M. (E.S.T.) Sunday, December 15, 2024, in the Orange Hill Cemetery located in Hawkinsville, Ga. Holman-Headland Mortuaries & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
Bobby Bowen was born and raised in Unadilla in Dooly County, GA, son of the late Ernest Bowen and Nancy Bowen. Mr. Bowen lived in Fort Valley, GA., most of his adult lifetime and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was the owner and operator of a convenience store for many years in Fort Valley and was also engaged in farming. Mr. Bowen was a member of the Fort Valley Masonic Lodge #110 and was a member of Fort Valley First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was preceded in death by his son, Tommy Gene Bowen and his only sibling Royce Bowen.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Bobbi Kim Bowen McHale, Midland City, AL; four grandchildren, Casey Edward McHale (Shelby), Clarksville, TN, Amanda Dunn (Matt), Overland, KS, Audrey Marie Bowen, Overland, KS. and Ashley Nichole Blackman, Paola, KS; nine great-grandchildren, Quincey June McHale, Lexi Dunn, Jayvan Dunn, Mia Cyka, Lily Goodlooe, Beckett Blackman, Leland Blackman, Watson Blackman and Monroe Blackman.
