Mr. Bobby Lynn Belk, Sr., age 67, of Dothan passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015.
Born March 19, 1947 in Lamar County, Alabama to the late Lynn G. Belk and Bobbie Jean Yerby Heckinger, Mr. Belk was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of Rehobeth Baptist Church. He drove a truck for 45 years for different companies over the years. For the last 12 years, he drove for James McNeil Trucking.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lommie and Lola Mae Belk, his step-mother, Carolyn Belk, and his aunt, Francis Knight Reynolds.
He is survived by his wife, Nan Belk; his son, Bobby L. (Mari) Belk, Jr.; his grandchildren, Megan (Blake) Watson and Bobby L. Belk, III; his sisters and brothers, Jritta Belk (special caregiver for the last two years), Mike (Margaret) Belk, Debbie (James) Boggan, Teresa Moore, Glenn (Myra) Belk, and Lisa (Randy) Ryles; special aunts and uncles, Wade (Thelma) Belk and Gayron (Kathleen) Belk; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, 3 yr old Michael Brown; special friends, George and Maxine Halford and Diana Peters; all his driving friends from Truck Driver Reunion at Lake Eufaula; his prayer warriors, Jean Cook, Clay McCord, and other family and friends who have prayed for him.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM, February 10, 2015 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Greg Jordan and Clay McCord officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 6 PM until 8 PM, Monday, February 9, 2015 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.
