Bobby Ray Clemmons, 83, a resident of Dothan, passed away Monday, April 24, 2023 at Flowers Hospital after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Josh Alderman and Reverend Tim Willis officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. of Olives Memorial Cemetery in Cottonwood with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:45 until 10:45 a.m. on Thursday prior to service time.
Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to Timbers Drive Church, 1461 Timbers Drive, Dothan, AL, 36301.
Mr. Clemmons was born November 17, 1939 in Ashford to Carl and Alma Cox Clemmons and was a 1958 graduate of Ashford High School. He was employed with Texaco Oil Company for fifteen years. He later established Bobby Clemmons Trucking Company which he operated for over 25 years prior to his retirement. Mr. Clemmons was a member of Timbers Drive Church in Dothan.
He is predeceased by his parents, a sister, Wanda Dupree and a brother, Phillip Clemmons.
He is survived by his wife, Sophia Guy Clemmons of Dothan; two daughters, Gayla Clemmons of Ashford, Carol Clemmons Peters (Eric) of Dothan; a son, Chattney Clemmons of Cottonwood; grandchildren, Sophie Peters of Dothan and Laney Peters of Franklin, TN; a brother, Jimmy Clemmons of Ashford; three sisters, Faye Windham of Ashford, Penny Faison (Dennis) of Ashford and Shirley Ivey of Tampa, FL; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Ray Windham, Jimmy Mitchell, Chris Clemmons, Brad Dupree, Dillon Windham, Danny Johnson and Mack Glass.
The family would like to give special “thank you” to the staff of CCU and MICU 5 at Flowers Hospital for their excellent care, especially Blake Love and Tracye Dacus.
