BOBBY  RAY  GRANBERRY


DOTHAN…Bobby Ray Granberry, a resident of Dothan, died late Thursday night, January 3, 2013, at his home. He was 78.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, January 6, 2013, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Tony Dye and Dr. Johnny Fain officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 7, 2013, in the Brantley City Cemetery, Brantley, Alabama. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 304, Chicago, Illinois 60611.


            Mr. Granberry was born and reared in the Hebron Community of Henry County, son of the late Oscar Mitchell Granberry and Lennie Mae Marshall Granberry. He lived in Dothan all his adult lifetime where he was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Granberry formerly owned and operated The Sandwich Shoppe and Dipper Dan, both in Northside Mall. After his retirement, he was employed by the Southeast Alabama Medical Center. Mr. Granberry was preceded in death by a sister, Lula Mixon, and three  brothers, Raymond Granberry, Fred Granberry, and Byrd Granberry.


            Surviving relatives include his wife, Edie Bailey Granberry, Dothan; two sons, Mike Granberry and wife, Angie, and their daughter, Sarah Granberry, Dallas, TX; and David Granberry, Ft. Walton Beach, FL; a sister, Quilla Granberry, a resident of the Henry County Health and Rehabilitation Facility, formerly of the Hebron Community of Henry County; two brothers, Alec Granberry, Columbia; and Herbert Granberry and wife, Carol, Abbeville; a sister-in-law, Julia Granberry, Dothan; several nieces and nephews.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Tommy Bassett, Don Henderson, Brad Smith, Joe Mixon, Jeff Cornett and Joseph Bailey.
