Bobby Rowe, PhD, of New Brockton, AL passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014 at SE Alabama Medical Center after a courageous fight with multiple myeloma. He was 81.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM, Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. Donnie Thrasher officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:30 PM until service time. Dr. Rowe was an instructor at Enterprise State Junior College for 30 years, teaching Western Civilization, Philosophy, Anthropology, Sociology and Archaeology. He was passionate about what he taught and made students think. He was an advocate for people and their rights. He has definitely left an imprint on this world and his students.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Icy Rowe; brother, Osby Rowe; sister, Ceola Rowe-Lay.
Survivors include his wife Teresa Rowe, New Brockton, AL; daughters, Jeanine Buxton Roberts, Enterprise, AL, Renee Rowe Goodson (Phil), Pace, FL, Ceola Rowe Odom (Ken), Pace, FL, Jennifer Windham Massey (Paul), Enterprise, AL; son, Chris Windham (Courtney), Opelika, AL; grandchildren, Dallas Buxton (Danielle), Dalton Buxton, Katelyn, Molly and Georgia Goodson, Abigail Odom, Tyler and Jason Massey, Cade and Cailyn Morgan; great-grandson, Braiden; brother, Haskin Rowe (Cynthia), Columbia, KY; sister-in-law, Judy Rowe, Columbia, KY; nephew, Wally Rowe; nieces, Patti Rowe Nall; Libby Huggins; Tammy Pickett; Jill Rowe; Mindy Ward; Shannon Rowe.
