Bobby Strowd, a resident of Columbia, Alabama passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at a local hospital. He was 57.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 2 pm at Webb Baptist Church with Rev. Joel Laseter, Josiah Strowd and Greg Poff officiating. Burial will follow in Webb City Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm on Thursday, April 12, 2018. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to the sanctuary renovation at Webb Baptist Church, PO Box 70, Webb, AL 36376.

Bobby was born on July 31, 1960 in Luverne, Alabama and lived his early years there. He was a 1978 graduate of Luverne High School and began his career at 18 with Alabama Power Company. Bobby had been employed at Farley Nuclear Plant for the past 37 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. Bobby loved his dog, “Sammy,” and liked riding him around in his car and taking him to the park. He was an avid Alabama football fan. As a member and deacon of Webb Baptist Church, he was very involved in many church activities including children’s church, director of Vacation Bible School, was currently teaching home Bible study and served on the renovation committee.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Belinda Strowd; children, Josiah Strowd, Jacob Strowd and Hannah Jo Strowd; his brothers, Mike (Gloria) Strowd and Jeff Strowd; his sister, Pam (Rick) Rice; and four nieces, two nephews, five great nieces and three great nephews.
