DOTHAN. . . Bonnie Brockelman Duke, a resident of Dothan, died early Saturday evening, April 29, 2023, in a Dothan hospital. She was 78.
Per her wishes, there are no funeral or memorial services planned at this time. Entombment will be in the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Manhattan, Kansas at a later date. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements
Bonnie Duke was born in Council Grove, Kansas and was reared in Kansas and Colorado. She lived in Olathe, Colorado for many years and also Junction City, Kansas before moving to Dothan in 2022. Mrs. Duke was retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Olathe, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Thomas Duke, a son, Brian James Duke, and two brothers, John Brockelman and Jim Brockelman.
Surviving relative include a son, Jeffrey Duke (Johnna), Rehobeth, AL; three sisters, Sheila Whitener, Jacquie Kelln (Dwight), and Kim Brockelman; a brother, Rodney Brockelman (Roxie); three grandchildren, Steven Duke, Tommy Duke and Manny Duke, several nieces and nephews.
