Brenda Anderson, age 81, of Panama City, Florida, was called home by her Lord and Savior on August 5, 2024, after a noble battle with a medical condition. She was born in Montgomery, Alabama on July 21, 1943, to Royce Eugene “Gene” and Hettie “Jewel” (Vickers) Holland. She spent most of her childhood years in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she attended Sandia High School and met her husband Jon B. Anderson. Jon and Brenda were wed in Albuquerque in 1961 and were married for 37 years until Jon’s death in 1998. Jon and Brenda had two children, Geoffrey M. Anderson (Geoff) of Lynn Haven, FL and Allan S. Anderson (Scott) of Lafyette, LA.

Brenda had a love for classical dancing and performed in several musicals for the Albuquerque Civic Light Opera and the Amarillo Little Theatre. She later took on the role of sales and worked her way up from a Beauty Consultant to become a Senior Director for Mary Kay Cosmetics. During her 24-year career with Mary Kay, Brenda earned many awards and citations to include diamond rings and the infamous “Pink Car”. After Mary Kay, Brenda became active in the community by conducting image seminars for several corporations and civic groups. In retirement, Brenda continued to work several part time jobs in the sales industry through her 80th birthday. She was active in several churches throughout her life and was most recently attending Hiland Park Baptist Church in Panama City, Florida.

Also in retirement, Brenda met Jay Oskolski USCG Commander (Ret.) of Pensacola, Florida and spent ten years until his death in 2019, traveling the United States and enjoying life. However, one of Brenda’s most enjoyable roles in her life was that of a grandmother, or “Nana” as she was called. Brenda had five grandchildren whom she cherished immensely. She would often write short stories and poems for their birthdays. Brenda is predeceased by her parents and husband. She is survived by her children Geoff Anderson (Amy) and Scott Anderson, along with her 5 grandchildren Jon-Michael, Jared, Keegan, Avah, and Jacob, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on August 9, 2024, at 10:00 am at Kent Forrest Lawn Funeral Home, 2403 Harrison Avenue, Panama City, Florida 32405, with Dr. Carl Fondren officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Mt. Zion Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery, located at 2919 County Road 31, Eufaula, Henry County, Alabama 36027. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary, Abbeville, Alabama, is in charge of local arrangements.
