Brenda Joyce Reese, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2024, at the age of 69 in Trussville, AL. Born on December 10, 1954, in Dothan, AL, to the late Spud and Ruthie Lee Cogman, Brenda was a cherished individual who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched.
Brenda retired from Dothan City Schools after dedicating 28 years of service where she not only nourished the bodies of countless students but also their spirits with her warmth and infectious smile. Her unwavering commitment to her work was matched only by her devotion to her faith as a long-standing member of Hines Chapel AME Church in Dothan, where she lived her spiritual values through acts of service and fellowship.
The matriarch of her family, Brenda's love knew no bounds. She is survived by her loving children, Senetrix Webb Britt (Antoine), Michael Webb II, Chasiti Gray (Leonard), Bryan Webb, and Derrick Webb. Brenda's legacy continues through her 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored and cherished. Her presence was a gift to her family, as she guided them with a gentle hand and a generous heart.
Brenda's zest for life extended to her hobbies and interests. She was a savvy shopper with a keen eye for good deals, which she delighted in sharing with her family and friends. Her jovial spirit shone brightly as she entertained those around her with her humorous personality, always ready to share a laugh and bring joy to any occasion with her beautiful smile.
Those who knew Brenda would describe her as thoughtful, loving, and kind. She was the epitome of selflessness, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her sweet and caring nature made her a beloved figure in her community, where she was always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a comforting word.
Brenda's passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. Yet, her memory will be treasured and kept alive through the stories told, the lessons she imparted, and the love she shared. She was a big giver in every sense, enriching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
The family takes solace in knowing that Brenda is now at peace, reunited with her beloved parents and great-granddaughter, Royalty Davis and basking in the glory of eternal rest. While we mourn her loss, we also rejoice in the memories she has left behind—a tapestry of love and compassion that will wrap around us forever.
