Mrs. Brenda Kay Williams Tinsley of Enterprise, AL (formerly Samson) passed away Friday, June 3, 2022, surrounded by family and friends. She was 70 years old.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11:00 am at Samson First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dean Moore, Rev. Jimmy Eddins, and Rev. Patrick Dyess officiating. Family will receive friends at 10:00 am in the Sanctuary at Samson First United Methodist Church.
Brenda was born in Opp, AL on August 17, 1951 to the late Jimmy L. and Edna (Ann) Grace Williams. Brenda was a talented designer and seamstress. She was taught to sew at an early age by her grandmother, Wilma Grace, making her own clothes by age 12. In the late 80s and early 90s, Brenda sang with the gospel group Wings of Joy. With this special group of friends, they traveled around the Wiregrass ministering to many people. Brenda made many Majorette, Dance, Cheerleader, and Drum Major uniforms over the years. In more recent years, Brenda had devoted her life to designing and making pageant heirloom dresses. Brenda took joy in meeting each special little girl, ensuring they felt beautiful and confident in the dress they chose. Brenda also loved hosting events and cooking large meals for her family and friends. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren, she devoted her life to loving and caring for them over the last 17 years. She was a loving wife, mother, and loyal friend to many.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her infant sister, Dana L. Williams. Father and mother-in-law, Jack M. and Helen Finch Tinsley and Sister-in-law Michelle Spicer Tinsley.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Eddie R. Tinsley. One son and three daughters: Lance Lindsay, JoDee Norwood (Philip), Anna Tinsley (Lalo), and Marissa Hernandez. Five grandchildren: Jack Thomas, Jasper, Tristan, Braeden, and Milsan. Two brothers, Bob Williams (Bobbie) and Ken Williams (Elena) and three brothers-in-law, Jack D. Tinsley (Janet), Gary Tinsley (Joan), and David Tinsley. Special cousin Barbara Downs. Special friends Calvin and Judy Reiter, Zakina Henderson-Hart, and a number of very special nieces, nephews, and many other friends.
The family would like thank Dr. Sam Sawyer, Dr. Alan Young, and Dr. Michael Wheat, the staff of Medical Center Enterprise, Enterprise Health and Rehab, and SouthernCare Hospice for their love, compassion, and support over the past year.
