C. Paul Muzzio of Daleville passed away Monday, April 4, 2016 in Medical Center Enterprise. He was 88.
He was born in Denver, Colorado on 5 March 1928 to Chester and Anna Muzzio. He had a sister, Betty, who was four years older. The family moved to Portland, Oregon in the mid 1930’s. Paul considered Portland to be his hometown. During WWII, Paul attended Hill Military Academy. Upon graduation in 1946, he immediately enlisted in the US Army where as an infantryman, he was posted to South Korea. Upon completing his service, he returned to attend the University of Oregon while drilling with the Oregon National Guard and Air Force ROTC. With a BA in Business Administration, he worked with Standard Oil before posting to the Air Force Flight School. At Flight School, he met the real love of his life and married Jean Hayes who was his wife for 53 years. They, and two children enjoyed Air Force life where Paul was a C-54 Pilot, a Missileer, and a Quality Assurance Squadron Commander. After retiring from the Air Force in 1972, Paul continued to treasure the Air Force Community as Manager of the Aero Clubs at Vandenberg and Travis Air Force Bases before full retirement to Hilltop Lakes, Texas. He is survived by his children, Joann and Cliff; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
