Calvin Franklin “Frank” Prescott of Samson, AL passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024 at his home. He was 84 years old.
Funeral services with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Samson First Methodist Church with Rev. Dustin Wise officiating. Burial will follow at Travelers Rest Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made in memory of Mr. Prescott to Samson First Methodist Church 204 West Main Street, Samson, AL 36477.
Frank was born on September 07, 1940 in Gaskin, Florida to the late George Calvin and Alma Ernestine Davis Prescott. He retired after 20 years of service in the United States Navy, where he finished out his career as an Ocean Systems Technician Chief. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling, gardening, fishing and working on his Chevrolet El Camino. He was happiest when he was helping others. He was a faithful member of Samson First Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Leon Prescott and James Thomas Prescott.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Dora Parker Prescott of Samson, AL; son, Calvin Mark Prescott (Shauna) of Hartford, AL, stepdaughter, Lisa Crowell Nelson of Enterprise, AL; two grandchildren, Allison Marie Hendrix (Adam) and Nicholas Mark Prescott, all of Hartford, AL; three great grandchildren, Aaralyn Redding, Alton Redding and Amzy Hendrix; five step grandchildren, Sam Bailey (Jamie) of Cartersville, GA, Lauren Harrelson (Aaron), Leanna Leverett (Ryan), Lance Sutley (Kitty) and Matthew Nelson, all of Enterprise, AL; nine step great grandchildren; two sisters, Mamie Taylor of Virginia and Bonnie Mautino of Oklahoma; special nieces and nephews, Rhonda Fahringer (Frank), Rusty Ward (Lori), Tim Mautino (Lisa), Amelia Bhide (Sonji), Emily Walker (Kirk) and Lenore Califano (Tony), as well as a host of extended family and friends.
